For those of you who know me well, you know that I don't do mornings!!! Today was no exception. My early morning started off with my roomie knocking persistently on my door and softly calling my name. When I finally was able to come out of a deep hazy dream like fog, she asked me for a ride to school. She had overslept and missed her bus. (I think the oversleeping had much to do with daylight savings, the spring ahead gets to us all!) I hurry and change so that I can take her and try to not look longingly at my warm, soft bed that is calling to me to return and off we go.
I step outside and imagine my dismay! It is snowing, hard, wet snow that is coming down fast! UUGGGHHHH!!!!!!! You have got to be kidding me, yesterday it was sixty degrees and less than 24 hours later we have snow. Thankfully, it wasn't too thick and I didn't have to scrape it off my car.
I immediately turn on the defrost and seat warmers (thank you who ever came up with that invention!) and we head to one of my least fave streets in Boston, Commonwealth Avenue. Now, at this point I am still rubbing my eyes and trying to become concious. When screeech!!!!!!! I have to slam on brakes and just pray that I will not hit the huge tow truck that is headed right for us. I am bracing myself for impact as I am sliding on the snow (c'mon brakes, please engage!) and I just know that we are going to collide and this will be the end of my car as I know it, when we stop just inches from each other and avoid eminent destruction. Don't worry, I am fully awake now!
My roomie decided that she can still make another bus on time so I just need to drop her off at this one street corner on Comm Ave. I flip a U-ie drop her off and start heading back towards home, growing more and more excited over the thought of climbing back into bed. I go 2 blocks when my roomie calls me. It is spring break for BU and the shuttle she was going to catch wasn't running. So I flip another U-ie and pick her up.
Thankfully, there were no more close calls and the rest of our ride was uneventful. I drop her off and head home. Don't worry it is now 8:00, I have only been on the road since 6:45. (The school is only 5 miles away, but that's Boston for you!) By the time I come, home I actually don't get into my bed, instead I turn on the TV (music videos are on), lay down on the couch and promptly fall fast asleep. Yup! It's a Monday! Welcome to the week!

And I AM jealous you got to get some more sleep eventually, you lucky duck! ;)
Mollie, How's it going? Your blog posts are so fun (I will have to rent Austrailia!!). I hope you are doing well, and enjoying Boston!
